Like Gvozdyk vs Beterbiev. If Floyd and Manny fought in their primes, does anyone see this result?

Usually the better boxer beats the more aggressive puncher. Usually.

I don't think you can view Beterbiev as "just a puncher" at all. He's technically very well schooled, but like Kovalev before him before he started to school so called master boxers, he is viewed as a come forward puncher. He isn't as technically sound as Kova, but he beat him in the ams.
The technical gap between him and Gvozdyk wasn't nearly as big as people claim and he shouldn't have been behind on the cards imo.

He certainly isn't a 175lbs Wilder.

I had Beterbiev ahead for what it's worth. Gvozdyk was technically superior and the more 'classical' boxer but sometimes that is never enough.

 

No other LHW in recent memory could throttle and just totally overwhelm/consume Gvozdyk like Beterbiev did. No one. And Gvozdyk is a ****ing he'll of a fighter.

 

Agreed, Beterbiev really showed his overall skills in this fight. He’s not the best boxer but he’s better than people gave him credit for being. Gvoz outboxed him at times and I thought he had AB starting to slow down after a few rounds but AB hit him with some registering body punches. It took all of the steam out it Gvoz. He really looked like he didn’t want to be there those last couple rounds. Better boxers usually beat rough fighter types but AB is a decent combination of boxing skill and brute force. He’s going to be tough for anyone to beat at LH. I don’t see him moving to cruiser because he doesn’t seem big enough. He might beat some guys but he is best suited at LH. There are still some fights for him at the weight, Bivol or maybe a rematch with Gvoz. I’ll watch him fight anyone.

 

An old, semi-shot, injured, one-armed Manny had no problem countering and stunning a juiced-to-the-gills near-prime Floyd. There's a reason Floyd ducked Pac for 5 years.

Quit lying it was pac who ducked a prime pbf because of testing those are facts. And when they fought a shot pbf schooled him 118-110.

 

I mean both are top quality operators who have top 10 p4p level talent but to say that a boxer-puncher vs puncher matchup is equivalent to Floyd Manny wouldn't be right. Manny is a boxer-puncher and Floyd a slick boxer, different kind of styles will make different kinds of fights. Floyd was always using his long ass reach to beat his opponent on the outside, seeing as he never fought anyone with a longer or equal reach to him. He was so well used to winning these fights that depended on range keeping ability that I think Manny would have deeply struggled to beat him at any point in his career.

 

Why, he boxed well, he just had a Beast in front of him. It was the two best light heavys firing on all cylinders. Beterbiev will rip Bivol apart when hes ready
