...this is what you'be been really looking for fellers!!

    [yt]OqGfQOJE2q8[/yt]

Admit it! This is what you'd rather be spending your Saturday nights watching if your wife and buddies weren't looking, not tough, hard-chinned men laying on the hurt and sucking in that pain.

There's little love on this forum for real fighters. Most of you just like the dancers. Margarito wasn't a dancer so you underrated him. He showed you. Andrade you underrate too because he's not a dancer who fights scared. He'll soon show you though. You'd better believe it.

In the meantime put this picture of a "great fighter" under your pillows. Sweet dreams "fightfans"!!

    So true!

Smooth skillz rulez OK here on ESB, feller 168 lbs. Dawson is "simply the best", Calzaghe is "Supernatural", Gamboa is "a God", whilst Pacquiao, that bum is just "limited and one-dimensional".

    Still, Bute will school Andrade!:smooch

If you're trying to imply that somehow people on a BOXING forum tend to be a fan of good BOXERS, then............

    Yep, you've got me pinned.

My only point was that people underrated the really hard fighters with an iron chin but fewer boxing skills because they didn't look so good on tape and overrated some very smooth and skilled fighters, who might be better suited for the amateur version, which is about hitting wilst not being hit, rather than hurting whilst not succumbing to pain, which is the pro version. I agree with the threadstarter on this.

    Hmmmm..

I think in the Pros the maine objective is to still "hit wothout being hit". Granted it is much easier for a solid-chinned/technicly-lacking fighter to thrive in the professional ranks, you still want to hit the other guy more than he hits you..

Hit hard without being hit, yeah, but if you need to take three soft punches to land a hard punch and you can take the pain, do it! Pro boxing is about effective aggression, not just powder-puffing fast in your opponent's face trying to catch the judges' eye. If you want to do that, stay an amateur!

Well, they are not underrated. Fact is 90% of the time a hard fighter with an iron chin loses against a good boxer. Margarito is an exception, not the rule!

P.S. We like when good boxers get a knock-out! We don't like boxing because knitting is not televised.

I don't know about that, laffie...I think amateurs like Margarito are often written off before they even have a chance to make something of themselves as pros, because they don't look good on TV, and without the right backing, support and opportunity, few make it. Remember how hard it was for Andrade to become a steady pro, and he's quite good too, but he almost gave up, because he didn't have smooth skillz and no one was interested in him. Who would want to have their boy lose to a guy who fights like a Neanderthal? Better to lose to a fighter with smooth skills; it doesn't seem so bad.
