Yes I consider it a win, since he won. Salido didn't get mowed over last time. Maybe this time he will, but right now it's empirically clear there aren't levels between the two.
That's right. Loma looked the better fighter, but he didn't have it easy. Salido's a tricky style for him even beyond the low blows, and he's by far the best fighter Loma's fought. There are questions not just about Salido's win, but about how well Loma can box with Salido. Both of them need the rematch.
I think Salido has done enough to prove he's a 'very good' fighter, just short of elite after drawing with Francisco Vargas, beating Martinez twice, beating JuanMa twice, beating green Loma, beating Guerrero and winning the last 5 rounds against prime Marquez, dropping Gamboa and starting to make a comeback against Mikey before Mikey ran away. He improves with time. That 'very good fighter' just so happens to be the ultimate stylistic threat - rough aggression, gives Loma no space, defends well to the body, much bigger physically. This combo makes Salido a tough opponent.
Anyone care to guess how much Salido misses weight by this time? This dirty ******* is going to end up being a thorn in Lma's side. He will either get injured again, delaying the fight. Come in overweight and if he makes it to the ring will fight dirty again forcing a DQ thus sabotaging Loma's revenge. I wanted this fight but I cannot help feel that Salido will do everything in his power to stink it up.
I agree, I think he'll try his utmost best to just **** it up. But, Loma's team are very strict now and insist that if he's overweight during the weigh in, there's no fight. Also, Loma already notifies the ref whenever headbutts go on and has learned to mention the low blows. I do believe Salido will come in north of 150 and Loma will only be like 137lbs. Salido is going to have to bully Loma, give him no space and try to steal rounds on effective aggression.
