I never saw this fight, it was in Glasgow in 2001 and Limond won on points in a 6-rounder.

I heard on Buncey's hour yesterday that Choi made some kind of protest after the fight, what was this about, did he think he was robbed or what? I tried to search online for details of this, but found nothing.

The only time I have saw Choi was against Derry Mathews when he stopped Derry in Round 5. He looked like a real powerhouse and for obvious reasons many others (unlike Derry) have ducked Choi. It is a real shame that Choi hasn't fought since, he is an explosive fighter, the type of fighter that fans like to watch.

For those that saw Limond- Choi in 2001 I would be interested in how you scored it?

Also, if Limond-Choi fought again, who wins?

limond's really a lightweight and choi a featherweight

limond is tricky and i heard choi hurt him - but only 6 rds isn't really long enough

i think in a championship distance he'd knock out limond, a polished but somewhat brittle fighter. choi seems to be freakishly strong.

Yeah a championship distance between these two would be interesting, I am curious to know how good was Choi when he fought Limond in 2001 compared to his last outing against Derry in 2008? And did Limond score a homer decision? Comments anyone?

I agree with Rob, he's a good little fighter but there seems to be this mythos buiding up around him on the Internet that he's some supernaturally stong destroyer who would walk through all the oppostion in the UK from 126-130 if only he wasn't being ducked by everyone.

As I said, I do think he's a decent fighter and, because of his style and lack of pulling power, he's def. on a couple of fighters "who needs him" list but I think people are getting a little ahead of themselves with some of the claims being made of what he's capable of.

Anyone found any links to Choi's fights. I can't really judge him as I have only seen him in one fight, but he was pretty ruthless against Derry Mathews - who is no pushover. From what I saw it was brute force over style, but he looks a real handful and I would love to see him in with a few names to see what would happen.

Didn't the Ring have Choi in their top 10 featherweights after the Matthews fight? That seemed a little strange to me.

Choi might be overrated by a few, but there is no doubt he's up there with any of the featherweights in Britain and deserves to share a ring with them, and at the least would be a severe threat. It seems pretty obvious that they agree with that asessment since any potential bouts do not seem to be forthcoming.

Limond obviously did well to beat Choi over 6 rounds a long time ago, it would be interesting to see it over 10 or 12 rounds now as the shorter distance favours the better and slicker boxer.

Choi might have to think about going upto lightweight.

I know its very convienent but its very rarely just as simple as blaming one side for a fight (or fights) not happening. As I've said Choi is one of the top featherweights in the UK at the moment and is clearly on on the "who needs him" list of some promoters/ fighters but thats as far as it goes, he's not this destroyer that has every Featherweight/ super Featherweight in the UK too petrified to fight him.

I think they are petrified. How else do you explain it?

Choi looks like a Mongol warrior, you'd rather face a skinny white dude.
