Limond turns down Prescott fight

i know the reporter thats wrote that, because it was him that made that comment, and me and james williamson the photographer for the daily record started laughing when he said it!! and the photographer (whos my mate) made a joke of it, and said **** being willie limond hes a wanker!! haha

Ta for that, brought a smile to my face... Can't say that I blame the good people of York for wanting to shoot us on sight - it wasn't that long ago that we Scots used to ransack the town every other weekend! A kinda Roman holiday but wi kilts and woad.

On a more serious note, I'd love to see WL going toe-to-toe with Prescott. Putting local bias to one side, it's also good to see a hard working pro getting some just rewards in a game that can often offer bugger all to those who give their all. A wee bit of moralising there to end on.

I reckon Willie Limmond could beat Prescott and I'd ****ing love it if he did. Limmond ended up getting caught by Khan due to Khans speed and even though he nearly stopped Khan he does not have the power of someone like Prescott to totally **** Khan with one shot.

But I just don't see Limmond getting caught repeatedly by Prescott as he was by Khan, because Prescott is simply not as fast and his punches are wider.
Limmond has a good chin, good, tight boxing and I reckon he could definitely win on points and quite clearly too.

He was right not to take the fight at such short notice, but that's Sports Network, hope he takes it without prep gets done like Khan and they can then make Prescott out to be a monster who is destroying all and sundry, and hype a rematch between Khan and him for about 5 fights time...

So ****ing lame.

It would been class if Limmond had taken it and schooled Prescott.

Anyway good look to Willie in his next fight, he seems like a top lad.

i think willie is doing better by going and fighting in MSG ;this surely would raise his profile and will kead to bigger and better things for Willie.

Willie disnae need a rematch with Khan or Prescott,hes got his own career which he has earnet and dosent need these too fight these two .

But his own career involves Khan and Prescott. They're in the same weight division and are big names.

I'd like to see him win at the MSG then follow this up with a fight with Prescott :good

Limmond doesn't fancy getting his head knocked off.

 

I haven't seen enough of either to determine who I think would win. The A > B, B > C so A > C argument simply doesn't work.

Certainly not in this instance, where Limond was ripped off, whilst Prescott starched Khan but would have been ripped off had the fight transpired any differently......

I would guess that Limond has a lot more ring-savvy than Khan, won't just walk onto massive bombs from the first bell.

 

Its no choice really is it? A possible fight at MSG on the udnercard of one of the biggest fights of the year or fight Prescott at very short notice with not enough time to prepare (when you know SN just want to use you as a name to build up Prescott).

If Prescott & Limond win it would be an interesting fight in the future.
