If Burns moves down to domestic level I would prefer him to move up and face Limond in an all Scottish battle

You would expect a Burns win, but depends how much he has slipped

Who would you have winning?? Willie's style would be better suited for Ricky imo but Willie looked the best I have seen him in years on Friday!! Hard one for me to call

I think Limmond is pretty underrated, bar the Crolla fight he always looks decent. Burns would beat him IMO but stranger things have happened.

Willie is underrated, but let's be serious Burns has to much for him.

I think this would be throwing Willie to the wolves. Couldn't see him taking that fight. He has aspirations for the EBU title why would he lose his British and Commonwealth to Ricky?? That would end his career. Willie boxed great but with the greatest respect to Curtis(who I'm still a massive fan of) that was always the risk. Curtis was never gonna outbox Willie and he doesn't have enough knock out power. As long as Ricky fights fighters who don't put it on him he will win. Seems to struggle with pressure and in fairness I said that before.

Come on what?? On Friday Willie looked very good, seemed strong, hitting harder and boxed well. Ricky on the other hand didn't look at his best but I saw some improvements on his footwork but as he has done in previous fights when he gets hit clean he goes into a shell.

If Ricky was to move up this would be a perfect fight for Ricky to get back into title fights albeit Domestic titles but would give him much needed confidence agin if he were to win.

Maybe I am sitting on the fence a bit because I have great respect for both fighters but i don't agree that it is an easy fight to call.

You have worked with both fighters closely that is why I would like your opinion!!

I have to disagree with you on this too, Willie would be brimming with confidence going into the fight and Ricky the exact opposite!! The one good thing for Ricky would be Willie's style ie not Southpaw but Peter Harrison would have Willie stalking Ricky and cutting off the ring just like Scott would!!

Willie recently has been hitting and hurting fighters more and if he could hit Ricky hard early on he could well put him into his shell.

Defo not being thrown to the wolves as you put it but if either fighter realistically wants to win the Euro title they should be looking to take on one another with the winner moving on and the loser struggling badly to hold onto their careers!!

Your getting used to these Forums now Davie. Can we agree on one thing? Is cheese green?? I think without taking anything away from Willie, Curtis was made for him. Willie is a good counter puncher and he's always been able to hit a bit. Styles make fights. Ricky still has a good chin I don't think Willie hits hard enough really to worry Ricky. I genuinely think it would be very very one sided with Ricky maybe even stopping Willie in the middle rounds.

This fight wouldn't sell enough to make it big enough anyway. Lucky to sell a couple of thousand tickets. Harrison v Burns is the one at the Kelvin Hall. Even at light welter I'm sure Scott would go there for that fight.

Again it's just a case of opposition. Put ricky in with curtis and he'd look like sugar ray leonard...no discredit to woodhouse who's been an absolute credit in a boxing ring. Willie wont trouble ricky. Probably would be a decent first fight back for burns...willie would give him work for sure without troubling him.

Anybody mentioning harrison against burns is dreaming. Harrison would get taking apart at this stage of his career. Wouldnt mind seeing it tbh as a comeback opponent for burns decent hype and coin to be made out of it. But would just be a confidence builder for ricky for my money. But scott needs to get out there fighting and building a comeback of his own wouldnt be fair to the man sticking him in with burns or even limond just now lets see where he's at against lower level first. Was actually amazed that scott looked as good as he did in his comeback fights after what he's been through. But still wont get above domestic level for me

I see your point here as i think ricky finds it tight at the weight but his lack of power at 140 would be suicide imo i just cant see Ricky making an impact at LWW

I agree with this, Ricky vs Scott will be a fight made if Ricky still wants to make lightweight!! But I think it would sell out at least the Braehead because the hype machine would go into overdrive!!! Best of Scotland finally get to show who is the main man of Scotland etc etc

Ricky and Willie would do much more than a couple of thousand too mate, both Ricky and Willie have good support and it would be a genuine big fight for Scotland because of our lack of champions just now!!

Willie wins this one, cleverer, better boxer and he has the best trainer Scotland has ever produced. The only way Ricky wins this one is if Victor Laughlin and anyone else in Tommy Gilmour's corrupt crew has anything do with the judging...

Great opportunity for burns to capture brittish n commonwealth at light welter. Lets be realistic limmond had a tough night with woodhouse I like limmond but burns is still levels above that no matter how much hes slipped
