Linares was probaly gonna get ktfo anyway BUT the stoppage for that cut was ridiculous... 2nd round, ranks around 5-6 on a scale of 10 on cut 'badness' and fight is stopped lol wtf. Linares is screwed, he has an easily cut face and not the best chin he should have seen that right hand coming from a mile away... If he can't use his height, speed and reach then why bother... such a strange fight.
The problem was he kept trying to ****ing roll with the punch instead of blocking/parrying it. Stupid move on his part. The stoppage was indeed BS though.
I know, His cut was 1000 times worse verses Demarco. Linares's time near the top is over. What a shame. Paper faced.. Edit: But yes, He was badly hurt, He might have clinched up and survived but I honestly doubt it. they robbed Thompson out of a proper win to a top guy or Linares a shot at trying to survive. Demarco will murder Thompson IMO though, The guy is way too reckless and he won't just clip Demarco like that.
I was pissed. Linares wasn't going to survive, but I wanted to see it for myself, he has heart, he deserved to at least try. Damn bald doctor.
