well he hasnt said im firing him but he said he will talk to oscar about changing his trainer. ggod move, i hope khan follows.
he was an after thought in that camp. he deserves a trainer who understands his style and can add to it. i'd love to see him with someone like floyd sr who could really add to his style.
What gloves was he wearing? He should sue them as well. Poor guy's been the victim of a terrible injustice. Can't be his fault.
Let this be a lesson to all the young and developing fighters that you shouldn't go with Roach just because he's the most famous. Is he a good trainer? Absolutely. All his fame causes a big AZZ clientele, so he simply doesn't have as much time to help develop their skills.
tbh he was probably an afterthought, but it was a fight he was meant to win and it should have not been a puncher aswell, so some bad matchmaking, i think all parties should take some blame.
I'd be the first to say roach lacks as a trainer in some aspects, but when a 6th grader could spark you and a sharp wind shreds your face even floyd jr level defense isn't going to save you
how is it bad matchmaking? if he was truly elite, he should have won. u would rather see him fighting even lesser opponents? hes not meant to be a top fighter.
he needs a cutman, diaz or duran would be excellent for Linares. why the **** was he trying to roll with that right hand, when he was standing so square, roach's fighters do stand square but they have their gaurds up and can trade punches - linares can't, even khan who supposedly has glass chin can survive a decent amount of punishment and come back, I honestly thought linares could be a world class fighter - even after the demarco fight, if you go back to demarco fight if he listened to roach he would have won, roach said use his jab what did he do he brawled
Good he's making a change he feels necessary, but Roach's lack of committed time to him isn't his only problem. But you correct problems one by one, so he's trying to get on the right track.
