Never been a Linares fan. But I just watch the video and all I can say is that could happen to anyone. I would like to have a slow motion video available. He got caught with a good punch, no doubt about that. But I think what really finished him up was the way his head hit the ring. But whatever, like I said before, I have never been a fan
Linares got caught with a huge shot in the first round and was unable to recover. That's it!. Suddenly, Linares is garbage and has a glass jaw? This site has the most ignorant bunch of bandwagoning non-fans that I've ever seen in my life. I guarantee that if Pacquiao loses to Cotto, these same guys will be saying that Pac is really garbage and a hype job and that they felt this way all along.
Not really, unless he's going to KO everybody in a round he still has a lot to prove against different fighters. As for Linares, it wouldn't be the strangest thing to happen if he still had a decent career. I've never seen much in him but he's a decent fighter. I think a major factor in this defeat is his inactivity and fighting too many soft opponents, he had no sharpness or focus.
:rofl@ people trying to make that out as a some kind of huge punch. That punch wouldn't have dazed anyone with even decent durability. Face it, Linares is a glass jawed joke.
But it caught him in the right situation, Blade, Linares was in the process of taking a step back, and Salgado leaped in with a hook that Linares clearly didn't expect. Anyway, let's see what Salgado goes going forward. Way too soon to label him as a star, but also way too soon to write him off as a one-off as well. Edit: Actually, upon reqatching the first kd, Linares comes out of his crouch just as Salgado throws the hook, and is starting to lean back it seems. Doesn't get his hands up in time, and down he goes.
