Former two division*world champion Jorge "Golden Boy" Linares required several stitches on his face*to close up*the cuts that he suffered during Saturday's fight with Antonio DeMarco at*Staples Center in Los Angeles. DeMarco stopped Linares at 2:32 of the eleventh, after referee Raul Caiz Sr. stopped the fight.

"I think that the referee*was wrong, I still don't understand why he stopped the fight. He says*it was*the cuts and the blood, but they occurred several*rounds back and never once*was I asked to cleanse*my face. There were moments*where I was*blind*because of the amount of blood on my face, and*I was forced to*use my glove to clean it off and*that often opens*up a cut even more," Linares said to ***********.com.

"DeMarco knows that*he did not win....he just had a stroke of luck. I was never going to fall and that's why I started to exchange. I felt very well physically and we were ready*to fight for fifteen*rounds. He couldn't put me down and he knew it."

Maybe you should have told that to his face instead of silently crying into your towel and pretending to accept his kind words of encouragement.

this, he was such a nice guy to him and for Linares is being a dick here. I think also that the stoppage was not premature.

what i saw at the end of the fight was:

They told him what to say... boxing a business it would be God $$$ a rematch

His ass got handed to him... 6th round to Tko was all demarco. He was bloody getting connected a lot without defending nothing pre mature about that... he wasn't complaining until now nor was his corner... dude was getting beasted On...

But yeah if a rematch happens same outcome.. except earlier... linares don't have power at 135...good skills but the Mexican beast will eat him next time.. and I'd love to see it.

Good stopppage not only was the blood getting to Linares , so were De Marco's power shots. He was almost dedfensless with 35 seconds on the clock ! The ref did the right thing to stop it. linares was'nt crying at the time ! Freddy is training him well ! Great win for Antonio De Marco ! **** comments from Linares can't taint it !!

I'd be a lot more sympathetic if he had protested while it was actually happening.
