I predicted Campbell's chin would be his downfall and was proven 100% correct.

The guy simply doesn't have the chin for world level, which is a big shame as he has the talent.

Campbell did very well, however I do feel after the knockdown Linares went into a comfortable mode which slightly backfired against him.

Under different circumstances Linares would have put him away. Credit to Campbell though, he boxed well, however there is not enough dig in his punches, he is still slightly to amateurish for the pros. Yet still effective when using that long reach.

How were you proved 100% correct?
He wasn't badly hurt he got up and fought his way back into the fight.
I had it as a draw, it's not outrageous to say Campbell had a case for winning the fight.

Or alternatively Linares had a healthy respect for Campbell's power...and boxed cautiously as a result.

Well you just kind of answered your own question, if Campbell's chin wasn't bad and he hadn't been knocked down then he probably would have got the decision.

Of course looking at it that way, but it's certainly not china.
Looking at it another way having a decent chin may have kept him in the fight!

He's been knocked down 3 times in recent fights and not by huge punchers either. I think it's safe to say his chin is below par. His skills are not though.

Yeah possibly. I do feel Campbell could improve his leverage, he looks like he just hits the target instead of punching through it.

He's had a lot of doubters, but after last night he'll have earned himself a good few more fans.

Great effort and he'll improve massively going forward after that. His response after the knockdown was superb.

Everyone wrote him off, as if he didn't have a chance. Linares is a brilliant fighter, but he's not a machine some make him out to be... Kev Mitchell gave him all sorts of problems, that's why I felt if Campbell showed up and performed like we know he can, he'd push him all the way.

Turns out his dad died a couple of weeks back. The lad must have been in bits leading up to this fight. Credit to him for putting up an effort like that whilst dealing with the grief on his own.

Absolutely, total respect to him. I had Linares by 2 rounds, Campbell proved he's genuine world class.

Campbell can definitely win a world title at 135lb. He's better than Flanagan for a start. He would also comprehensively UD Crolla if they ever fought.

They should either try get a rematch in the UK next or look at challenging Easter Jr or Flanagan. Easiest title fight would be Flanagan but can't see Warren letting that happen any time soon.

Heart goes out to the boy. Done himself and his dad proud with that last night.

I think hes hit his level tho. Theres not much more he can improve on. its hard to see anything they can improve on him than can be improved. His boxings good. His hearts good. His engines good. Boxing brains good. Speeds good. Body shots good. Picking his shots good. Variety pretty good. His powers not good. Only his body shots have power on them. His skin doesnt look good. Theres not much lacking in him but power...and probably maturity. Hes just never really became a man. A bit like khan. They just look like their development stopped as opposed to even linares or say canelo. Think last night was a decent style match up for him cause linares is really a boxer. Which is pretty much down campbells street. I think harder hitters will end up punching through campbell.

His body shots we,re good last night. He used it a lot. But i d probably take him down the route of specifically being a body puncher. He should use it even more than he does. At the end of the day no ones likes the body shots. But most decent guys would take them head shots for about 30 rounds.

A lot of positives for campbell last night...he should be proud of that effort. But hes better taking that crolla v burns winner and stick about that level. I think he,d beat them both at this point in a hard fight. Few about that level then maybe getting the linares rematch a bit down the line. Linares is gonna start fading at some point.

He done himself and his dad proud on the night, proved so many people wrong who thought he would be outclassed at that level. I had Linares ahead by 1, the knock down being the difference but could see why one judge gave it to Cambell as he was out landing Lianres in a lot of rounds. I just wish he had a bit more pop in his shots to back Linares up a bit more, still think he can achieve great things in his division and I wish the lad all the best for the future.
