Battle of unbeaten, Japanese-based Venezuelans. Linares, with his wiry frame, looks like he could take the jump in weight. Valero, the big-hitting knockout artist. Linares, an advantage in speed and overall boxing ability. Its a fight that could well happen down the line. Who takes it?
Linares keeps him at bay with his jab, offsets him with his superior movement, punishes him from long-range, and stops him in the mid to late rounds.
Valeron is pretty crude and has a suspect chin. I see Linares outboxing him and stopping him in the mid rounds.
linares puts on a clinic, his jab and range, movement would make valero look like a dumbass inside the ring
Im leaning towards Linares myself, yet what if Valero is applying the same kind of pressure that Larios did, but with that extra power of his. I know that Linares knocked out Gamaliel Diaz with a good one-two from out-a-nowhere, but his stoppage over Larios was more of the cumulatitive effect variety. If Valero could take the punches, would he wear him down?
I don't know who would win. I'd like for Valero to win their first fight together since Valero is the older between the two. It would also increase Valero's resume. But they should have a rematch with perhaps Linares winning, and then go for a third fight to complete the trilogy.
Anybody with solid B level or better technical boxing skills who doesn't have a glass chin or huge problems dealing with pressure fighters would destroy Valero.
Valero would be knocked out in humiliating fashion. Linares has crisp technique, and he would probably be the biggest puncher Valero has ever faced. In terms of level of opposition Linares has Larios and that alone would appear to top any of the clowns Valero has been fed.
