Anyone saw what he did for Eric Lucas after their fight. That was the greatest showing of sportmanship I have ever seen in any sport. Linbrado Andrade may never be the best super middleweight of his era. But he's got the biggest heart in and out of the ring. A true gentleman of the sport. He is officially my favorite fighter.
I didn't think it was that major but it was unusual as hell. After he hugged and talked to one of Lucas' corner guys, he hugged and actually picked up Lucas and walked him around the ring for his hometown crowd as a sign of respect. I think he picked up a lot of Lucas' fans that night. Just seems like a wonderful person. Was glowing about Lucas in the post fight interview too. Talked about how much he admired his success outside the ring, etc.
The Lucas-Andrade fight was a perfect example of what the sport of boxing is all about. Two fighters gave their all in that fight both guys fought their hearts out. Andrade was the victor when it was all over & he showed how every fighter should behave , with true class. Lucas took defeat like a man tooanother class act. Oh if only some of the pampered prima donna jerks in boxingcould act like this
Andrade was 100% class post-fight. Lucas was a warrior as well. But in the ring it's a completely different story. Andrade was relentless and never stopped moving forward. Lucas managed to land some nice flush counter shots on Andrade but he just completely shook it off.
He is a very good fighter, gave Kessler a good fight a few years back and pretty much knocked Bute out.I think this guy will win a title at some point.
All of this. Plus he took getting screwed in the first Bute fight without much protest. Now that is a classy opponent.
