Actually I think this thread is symptomatic of what is wrong with this forum. Too many gobshites allowed to run wild being permanently disrespectful and without moderation.

It drives people away and gives this place a bad name.

Yeah, I think the OP is putting too much stock in Watts's powers of persuasion. Personally I can't stand him. I'm not Irish or Scottish. I do however honestly believe that Simpson clearly won that fight. I have nothing but the utmost respect for both fighters but excuses have no place in boxing, all that matters is what occurs within that 36 minutes. End of.

i reckon that simpson being a likely grueling defense, his trainer should have looked for a delay, simpson won ok, and if lindsay wasen't on form, he should fight smith, then if he wins a simpson return. Simpson is entitled to a less demanding first defense at home.

Wasnt he interviewed at the gym 2 or 3 weeks before the fight and he looked tip top. Seen it on youtube if memory serves.

I shouldnt really say this but john had an injured arm and couldnt punch for the best part of 2 weeks 4 weeks before the fight,neither guy would want to make excuses and had a very good fight,imo john has the style that will beat Martin most of the time

 

have to say martin looked fresh as a daisy in that video and i think that was not too long b4 the fight

i thaught martin mightve squeeked a draw but while lookin at the fight its simpson whos pushin martin back most of the time and did enough to get the win
