15 rounds at bantamweight who wins? I'd pick Ortiz but with very little confidence.

How much Ortiz and Rose have you seen?

Good bit of Rose very little of Ortiz. I've seen posters on here call Ortiz the greatest bantamweight ever though. What fights of him do you recommend I watch?

I'm pretty sure there isn't much. Try the third Castillio fight, I'm not sure if there's anymore on him.
For Rose, Harada would be a good place to start.

I'm a bit torn, coz in the footage of Ortiz, he looks really good but imo he'd always perform better against someone coming at him. Rose on the other hand, was a master boxer who Harada had trouble pinning down, but he could end up exchanging with people. If Rose chose to fight of the backfoot, he could win a narrow SD. If he gets lured in, I expect Ortiz to beat Rose to the punch, make him miss more and take a close, but clear UD.

As I said, there's not much on Ortiz, and I don't enough about his opponents to say how he'd deal with a slick boxer. I'm not sure.

Rose at his stellar short peak best could probably take a decision, but the thing with Rose is he was quite inconsistent with his performances at the weight. Ortiz is a taller proposition than Harada as well, in the way that he is a naturally bigger Bantamweight with a strength advantage and an immense ring IQ, and he would be able to work his way inside. Ortiz was also never inconsistent in title bouts, though the Harada bout is probably greater than any single one of Ortiz's.

Honestly, I'd say Rose would take one, but best out of three, Ortiz would take two.

No, you have seen “one” poster (singular), and it was myself...and it is a revived thread from years ago as I was beginning to dig into the division....A position I no longer hold by the way for whatever it is worth. Although I do place him 3rd.

However I would pick Ortiz in this fight

He got it from that old thread, wasn't there another on there who had him at #1? For the record, I think I'd have him at 5.

there was a guy (Kiki has not posted here in years) who called him the best he saw “live” but was not really making a list.

But mainly “ I have seen posters on here call him the greatest bantam ever”...that paints to broad a picture and is a little disingenuous IMO.

Rose throughout his career biggest battle was with the scales hence the inconsistency.
On song he was one of Aust greatest fighters.
