were there any fights that SRL and ODLH had where they didnt receive the lions share of the purse.
Also if the two had met prime v prime who would have got the biggest slice of pie?

Those two fighting would have to be even.

This is merely an opinion that I can't back up properly without a time machine, but I honestly believe if Sugar Ray had come up at the same time as Oscar, in the era of PPV boxing, he would have been a much bigger draw and star than Oscar. That's not coming from an Oscar hater because I've never hated the guy, and I was just a kid when Leonard was a star so I can't really compare, but looking back at footage of Ray and what a huge crossover star that guy was, just a hunch.

Look at that footage of Ray joking around "sparring" whit Bob Hope back in the day, Oscar appeared on Leno's show quite often and drew the bigtime celebrities to his fights like nobodies business, but I don't think he was ever big enough to have a Bob Hope invite him on a special. Sugar Ray was a mega-star.

SRL received less than Duran for their Rematch. It was a part of his "plan" to beat him. He wanted to fight him as fast as possible.

People make too much of the % of the purse a guy is making, as I fighter I won't care what the other guy was making once I was getting my worth.

    i) whoever has the belt gets the 60/40
ii) if they're just making it for the money (or unification), why not 50/50? For the amount involved, neither would care to walk away, I'm sure.
