No one has ever made boxing look so easy. Floyd write in his head whats gonna happen before it happens. His anticipation of whats coming his beyond this world. Hes a bad matchup for any great his size.

    That's a quality list :good

I might even be tempted to put Donald Curry in their myself, he was a superbly skilled operator. Terry Norris might be able to do it aswell.

Curry and Norris are both high-level operator whilst at their a-game. They also both have the ability to drop Floyd Mayweather Jr, FLAT with one good accurate punch.

Nah. To this day, I still think Mayweather would have schooled Pavlik.

Guys I'd favor to beat Mayweather (only at 130 - 147):

    Hearns @ 140, 147
    Leonard @ 147

    50/50 fights:

    Whitaker @ 140
    Prime DLH @ 147
    Nelson @ 130

Guys with better than, say, 25% chance of winning:

Williams @ 147 (who I maintain is the worst style matchup for Floyd, even if there's a big talent gap)
    Pryor @ 140
    Taylor @ 140

Guys with an outside shot: Forrest, Curry, Arguello, Pacquiao, Breland

Great fighters with little chance due to styles, etc. - Chavez, Tszyu, Mosley, Trinidad, Cotto, Fenech, B. Mitchell, Freitas

    I might be missing a few, but I can't get to 10.

Didn't include Duran or Benitez because they were over the weights by the time we get to the 80's.

Because from watching his fights, it's clear to see that Whitaker anticipated shots better. Like how it's clear from watching Floyd that he anticipates shots and moves his head better than someone like Meldrick Taylor, who only used some head movement. Pernell Whitaker clearly had better reflexes than Floyd, watching any one of his fights when prime clears that up beyond any doubt IMO. Pernell just saw shots coming and slips them better. You could argue that Floyd rides the punches and parry's better, but in terms of reflexes Whitaker is second to none.

Whitaker fought the better opposition, Floyd avoided his. Whitaker risked his legacy against JCC. Of course your % getting hit would be higher if you are taking on the best challenges. Look at Whitaker's face after the young DLH fight and look at Floyd's after the old DLH fight and ask who had better anticipated. Someone's eyes were swolen from DLH and it wasn't Whitaker's

    1. Sugar Ray Leonard - The most complete fighter Floyd would have ever faced who can match him in every department .
    2. Tommy Hearns - He can do the unthinkable and outbox floyd with his incredible reach and height or He can choose to take out Floyd whenever he wants .
3.Julian Jackson - Basically all he has to do is touch Mayweather once and its lights out .
    4. Sugar Shane (2000) - Ive always said Prime Mosley would've TKOed Mayweather . Would be some very close rounds leading up to the stoppage , i think Floyd gets caught with something big and stopped in the midrounds .
    5. Oscar Dela Hoya (1997) - People seem to forget how great of a fighter Oscar was in his peak . He was a dangerous fighter also very talented .If floyd was a welterweight in the 90s he would avoided Oscar . If he didnt ,Oscar would've beat him by decision .
    6. Manny Pacquiao (2009) - I believe to beat Floyd you need 3 things (Fast handspeed ,Great Stamina, a High workrate) Manny has all these things and them some , he also has a great chin and Great punching power as well . I feel Manny in 09 had a very great chance of beating Floyd But now going into 2012 its 50/50 . Floyd could very well outpoint and beat Manny ....But the fight will never happen so we will never know .
    7. Vernon Forrest - Standing at 6ft1 His height would have been a problem for Floyd , Good power, Good boxing skills ,Great jab . Overrall a very good fighter who Floyd would have probably tooken an L from , He would've been a risky opponent for Mayweather and even his uncle Roger agrees. May he R.I.P
    8. "The Beast" John Mugabi - Im not going to sit here and lie . Floyd as gifted as he is , would have never even speak on fighting Mugabi . Mugabi would have been Floyds worst nightmare . But if by some miracle the fight did happen . Look for Mayweather to take a beating when Mugabi catches up to him somewhere in the midrounds .
