Lennox Lewis. We know this because he avoided soutpaws with a passion. He never fought a southpaw in his entire career.
not sure but I dont think Cotto is. handle Judah preety well and beat the crap out of a prime Quintana. Williams does for sure though
Cotto beat up on Judah, Corley, and Quintana. Pacquiao is the only Southpaw he did not perform well against. Margo knocked out Andrew Lewis and Sergio Martinez. He fought very close fights against Santos and Wlliams. Now Paul Williams, I think he struggles against boxers who can stick and move. Now pretty all the guys he fought with this style happened to be lefties. So I'm not sure if it was the lefty stance or their style that is more problematic for him.
good piece of info. I know he said it's hard to fight southpaws due to his sparring experiences with them, but I didn't know he purposely avoided fighting them.
Cotto had to resort to cheating two or three times to stop the southpaw uppercut against Judah. Corley made him do the chicken dance. His right hand is also lacking. 3 out of 7 of marg's defeats were handed to him by lefties.
There was a stretch were he fought like 8 or 9 southpaws in a row, he fought a TON of them. I think Harding, Harmon, Del Valle, and most of his fights at light heavy were against South paws, unless I am misremembering, maybe right handers would have troubled him as much at that weight class. Was Montell a southpaw? I think Pernell and floyd look better and more invincible against orthodox opponents than south paws. Hopkins never had any trouble with them as far as I recollet.
Come on Leon, you're not that impressionable are you? I'm sure Lewis ducked the amazing southpaws Chris Byrd (Got iced by Ibeabuchi) and Corrie Sanders (Battered by Hasim Rahman), because he was absolutely terrified of what they would do to him. In fact, he avoided them at such lengths, that he actually fought the best fighters of his era, building an amazing legacy in the process, just to avoid these monstrous southpaws :rofl.
the worst "elite" fighter against southpaws, is definitely Jorge Arce, he even said one time, just after the Tomas Rojas´s fight, he´ll never fight a southpaw again...
What are the great southpaws that he went out of his way to fight? Chris Byrd and Michael Moorer? And I'm sure you'll say Corrie Sanders too but lets face it he was nothing more then a journey men his whole career until the Wlad fight. Window is really pushing his Wlad agenda lately. Pretty sad I havent seen him this bad since I joined the site.
