The interesting thing with the list is how many guys had defenses with a unified title. That changes the ballgame somewhat.

The other interesting fact is Holmes lost his last 5 title fights. Who else has that distinction? Or, you could count it as 6, if you include that Neilsen fight. I'm sure if Larry had won that bout, he would have been calling himself the world champion.

 

Another interesting thing is that of time;

One or another Klitschko has held the title for 12 years in another week. Incredible. Most champs have a window of 3/4 years or so of their prime. Then it's downhill and very few return to the limelight.

Try thinking of anyone on the horizon you see with a 12 years at the top of the heavyweights run. I can't.
