Geale didn't duck IMO. He made loads more money fighting Mundine than he would have at any point against Golovkin and avenged his one career loss. This doesn't even take into account the fact that he had 2 mandatories due at the same time; if he had simply fought Soliman (who only agreed to step aside for Mundine), would he also have been ducking?

To be fair, Geale was coming off fighting a champion in their own backyard and was looking for a tune up fight after Sturm. Not to mention pride was on the line to avenge his controversial loss, and financially this was the biggest fight available against an opponent most Australians know (Mundine). It gave him much needed publicity for future rights.

Gary Shaw unsuccessfully tried to negotiate with the WBA for GGG to stand aside for a chance at the belt afterwards as well.

Anyway, GGG is too busy fighting elite opponents like Rosado, Ishida and Fuchigama.

I can understand why Daniel "I won't duck Golovkin" Geale ducked GGG, but the list is getting massive right now.

Sturm no doubt takes the cake for not fighting him for over a year.
Geale was lined up to face Soliman until his tests from the Sturm match came back and he tested positive for PEDS. If his B sample comes back and he's tested positive again then Geale should be free to plan his next match, but considering Geale didn't even mention GGG in the post fight talk of Mundine, I don't think we'll see it anytime soon, he only mentioned that he wants to go stateside to fight but time will tell but I hope he does.

So who would promote a GGG-Quillin fight? You think Haymon is going to send his guys to a TR show after what they did to Lara? And HBO isn't letting GGG fight on Showtime, so this fight can't happen since K2 seems to be in bed with Top Rank. GGG fans know it can't happen

I agree that the move made the most sense for his career. But he threw his belt away to AVOID Golovkin, that is pretty much a fact.

    - Before Quillin fought N'jikam he had said something like "i would beat up my grandmother to get a title shot" or some dumb **** like that. Golovkin offered him one and he declined. Now that he has a belt it doesn't make sense. Duck x2

    - in 2010 (after N'jikam backed out the 1st time) Mundine was supposed to fight Golovkin for the vacant WBA Regular Title but he turned down the title shot too. That Title was vacant because Sturm was elevated to Super Champion (after paying off the WBA according to Oner) to avoid having to face his mandatory Golovkin.

    - N'jikam ducked Golovkin just as long as Sturm did and eventually gave up his WBA Interm Title rather than unify against Golovkin. N'jikam aquired that Interm belt by ducking Golovkin and refusing to fight him for the vacant belt back in 2010 as i mentioned above, it continued for 2 years.
