i dont think i'd consider jean marc mormeck shot... he almost dropped haye just a few months ago. he's past prime but definitely not shot.
Mormeck did drop Haye a few months ago, and nearly had him outta there!! The post previous was a very good one - in terms of the definition of a shot fighter. Take Castillo for example - he beats Ngoudjo on a SD when unmotivated (not seen it) and is blown away by Ricky Hatton having lost two of three rounds (one even) and losing the fourth when cut in half - now to me he didn't look that bad, more past his best rather than shot.
He stood his ground against Miguel Cotto but it was not enough. So yes, he would beat everybody but the king of the welterweight division as of now is Miguel Cotto. We will see on the morning of July 27th if he remains so or if Margarito succeeded him on the throne.
Acording to the names here nearly every ranked boxer and former champion is shot. Perhaps we should create a new division for "shot" boxers or just completely forget about the sport.
Mosley, de la hoya, casamayor and hopkins are NOT shot why is it everytime hopkins wins he gets big time credit and when he loses he is shot? casamayor still has it. mosley can still go full 12 intense rounds de la hoya can stay in there with any top fighter right now.
IMO, "Shot" should mean has absolutely no chance vs legitimate top fighters and is a shell of their former selves. That said guys like ODLH, Mosely, Hopkins, and RJJ aren't "shot". Fighters like Holyfield, Ben Tackie, and Maskaev (unless there was some excuse for his last fight) are probably 'shot.'
I looked at this thread and a few of the boxers considered "shot" 4 years ago are still fighting.....Jones, Toney and Holyfield.
1.) Roy Jones Jr 2.) Evander Holyfield 3.) James Toney 4.) Antonio Tarver 5.) Erik Morales My Top 5 SHOT active fighters
