your 13-ish line "light hearted gag" which commented individually on all the fighters on my list, and warranted a reply, which I gave you? oh that one. and when you got a solid explanation, oh you didn't like it one bit. enough said. yup, my line was the one liner, yours wasnt.
No you mug, my initial response was, "you forgot Zaggers". Which was light hearted, and a one liner and I expected you to laugh off.
and I told you why Zags is not on my list, hes not in the correct time period to be in my list. to which YOU reacted badly, instead of just saying " I was joking, np". not that I care but you still appear to be need to be told.
One small part of your comment referred to time period (after some heavy editing). The initial comment only attacked Zaggers as a person and a fighter.
With the exception of a few fighters (like Ali, Whitaker), I like skilled boxer/punchers who are prepared to get into the trenches and fight. DOB: 01/22/1963 Duran Hagler Gatti Ali Tyson
Not as much as I would have liked. I remember in my youth, the world would stop for an Ali fight. But the two fights I remember most were the Rumble in the Jungle and the Thrilla in Manila. After that, it was Hagler who hooked me into the sport and over time, after watching his fights mostly on youtube, I became a huge Duran fan. But I also have a special place for Gatti because even though he wasn't the most talented fighter in the world, he would leave part of himself in the ring after every fight and it seemed to me that he would have chosen death over losing some of his fights. The rise (and fall) of Tyson speak for itself, but for a while in the 80's he was thought or projected to be, the best ever. It never happened but it sure awakened interest in boxing after Ali leaving the sport.
:thumbsup you're a lucky man to have been around for the rumble in the jungle and the thrilla in Manila. Hearns was the man who sucked me into boxing in my youth and he's still my favorite fighter. And You gotta be crazy to not love Gatti, heart the size of a mountain.
Good point on Tyson too. I've never been more surprised by a result than when Douglas beat him. I was 13 and I truly thought he was an indomitable wrecking machine.
