    It is.

We have two very, very different styles - a young olympic gold medalist and one of the, if not THE great future hope for American boxing in Andre Ward who is a master boxer with a great technique. He could develop to be great, this guy! Furthermore. Ward is a great example of a fluent boxer with great head movement, lateral movement and footwork. An icon to the American style I would say.

On the other hand we have Kessler. A proven champion who has great defence and although he can seem to be static at times he is a very fluent fighter with an impressive offensive arsenal. He is imo a pleasure to watch and he is almost an icon to the european style. In fact. I would say he is the best representative Ive seen of the Euro style. Good power, extreme technique (like Ward), good footwork and speed.

This is indeed the US against Europe. In terms of style. And if Ward has a chin we are in for a hell of a fight.

    This could be FOTY :deal

i don't think so. ward's last fight vs miranda was a ****ing stinker with ward holding a ton. i have a feeling it's going to be the same way.

The thing is. If he trie to grab and hold he will be knocked out on his way in. Ward has to outbox Kessler from the distance and move very well. I think this is their gameplan as well.

Who are you and what have you done with Laudrup? Where is this sudden Ward recognition coming from? Anyway, as a Ward fan, I am hoping for a very boring fight. I don't think fireworks will favor Ward as much as a nice, good old fashioned, boring shutout.

If its a shutout in Wards favour I will be very, very (extremely!) impressed by him.

But I have earlier made my prediction and thats a tko win for Kessler in round 10.

But I have had tremendous respect for Ward all the time. I just think he is taking this fight a bit too early.

Last time i saw Laudrup, he was playing for Ajax Amsterdam.

FOTY is reserved for crowd pleasers. Trust me... this one won't be. This has 12 round technical fight written all over it. Nothing wrong with that, but I doubt anyone is going to be mentioning it as a candidate for FOTY.

As a Dane I am of course cheering for Mikkel Kessler, but the more I read about Ward and see his fights I gain more and more respect for him. He is young, but has the hart of a lion. On his home ground it is for me a 50/50 match.

I hope we get a great fight....and I think we will. Ward is not a runner like the "Zzzzzz boring" Dirrell ....He had a tendancy to go for the clinch in the mid rounds vs. Miranda and he could do that again if he tires again, but im sure its not a part of his tactics.

So Andrade vs Bika would be FOTY material. Yeah - I guess so.

But, as another poster said. From a technical standpoint and for those who love boxing. this is a great fight.
US style vs Euro style. And two of the best performers of these respective styles. And its a for the WBA belt. And its two of the favourites in the super six.

It will be great - and I think there will be drama and knockdowns as well.

If we see a knock down it will be Ward who goes down - I simply do not see him having the power to put Kessler to the ground. However I see Ward having the speed to take the match in a split decision. Kessler is a bit "static" and if Ward can keep the tempo high he has a great chance. His chance is to score enough in the first half of the match - Kessler is in a fantastic form and will keep throwing punches until the end.

Ward's physique looks weird to me. It's like he's got weirdly skinny and short arms for a fighter of his height and weight.

Seems a bit too pitter patter and I think Kessler might just run through him.

Don't Ward and Kessler have nearly the same exact dimensions (reach, height, weight)?
