Had Liston not passed away, there was talk of him fighting Joe Frazier on 1971. How does this go?

Frankly, I see Frazier convincingly stopping him at this time. Leotis Martin poleaxed him once Liston tired and he would tire against Frazier and when that happens the left hook of Fraziers happens. I think Liston may floor Frazier early, but by 1971, the days when he probably could have kept Frazier there had long come and gone, IMO.

    Whats your opinions?

I agree Sonny was too old, but prime for prime given their styles l'd probably pick Liston.

I think that would've been Liston's swan song fight. Frazier likely would've sent him into retirement.

Frazier would have ripped into Liston at that point. Sonny may have tried to hurt Joe back but Frazier would have just walked through him, to intense. Frazier by 6 round ko

I think he'd have given it the ol' college try. I wouldn't like his odds of success. Had Liston lived, I think it might have been his last fight and his next step would've been retirement because even if he did win by some far fetched scenario, in 1971, Liston wouldn't have been defending that title for too long.
