Take a look at Fraziers face after the three fights and draw your own conclusion.

I don´t think Liston would use his jab to hit Frazier´s head but instead he would work Frazier´s left arm and shoulder with it, making it hurt and tired and so taking away Frazier´s big left hook in the middle to late rounds. If Liston then uses his uppercut constantly when Frazier is moving in, ties him up when he´s close I think even an old Liston has a chance of beating Frazier on points. I can´t see Liston knocking out Frazier at that stage of his career.
But Frazier is the heavy favourite in hereand the most realistic outcome would be a KO/TKO win for Frazier in the mid-rounds.

ATTENTION HAND GRENADE, put the pin in your mouth, and hold tightly after its been ripped out of the Grenade.... After the devise goes off, kindly place the rock back over the filthly hole from whence you seeped.... Journey men?? Unless you are Ali, Tyson or my nanna, then refrain from uttering another slanderous pile of vomit.. IM sure there are web sites for those of your ilk...

An interesting match up for many reasons.. The worry about Liston is..When did he peak??? perhaps the boxing world missed it??. Listons power was closer to concussive than a simple KO.. Frazier/Liston would have been a sight for only the purist fan due to the explosiveness of each man.. Im tipping a Liston win KO. 3......... not unlike Foreman/Frazier in destructive consequence.... But, if Joe managed to land a few of the bombing hooks.... its anyones guess... What a fantastic match up..

Really? Why? Aside from accuracy, I think speed is the most important thing in a jab. Things like power just make the jab even better, but if you can't land it, it doesn't matter. Having a fast jab alone would be more succesful than an accurate jab against an unorthodox mover like Frazier was.

Considering Liston was so slow, I don't see him having much success against the crouching and bob and weave from Frazier. Accuracy alone is more likely to work against a stationary fighter, like Joe Louis. But someone like Dempsey, Frazier or Tyson would have bigger problems with a rapid, innaccurate jab.
Frazier had problems with swelling, so it doesn't really matter what his face looked like. in the first fight, Frazier made Ali miss a hell of a lot, for such a fast puncher.

Yeah, but he hit Frazier with a lot more than a jab. For example, a lot of lead rights. It was the rights that killed Frazier in Manilla. Of course Ali landed jabs, he always did, but he missed his fair share as well. And he was one accurate jabber.

That might be a succesful tactic.

Ali may have gone on record to say Frazier was rather easy to hit, but he's also gone on record saying FOTC Joe Frazier was one of the best fighters that he ever fought and would beat almost every heavyweight the in history of the sport.

Dundee and Pacheco both watched Ali miss more shots in an entire fight during the FOTC.
