Liston KO early. Frazier is one of my favourite fighters of all time but Liston is all wrong for him. Long reach, great jab, tremendous power in both hands and good uppercuts, great physical strength, intimidation - remind you of anyone? Foreman. Frazier would come forward, and be caught with big shots as he came in. After multiple knockdowns the fight would be stopped to save Frazier from himself. Be Kingston all over again.

I agree with most of this but Joe Frazier aint intimiated of anyone, in fact it was Foreman who admitted he was terrified of Frazier and glad Frazier never looked down like most of his opponents because Foreman couldn't stop his legs from shaking with fear.

I agree with you. I put that in more to highlight the comparison between Liston and Foreman than its effect on Smoke. Foreman was rightly scared of Joe, the fear he had made him fight even better with a mind to killing Joe before he killed him which is what would have happened if the fight had of gone past 6 or 7.

Undoubtedly. The legs thing was bull****. But Frazier did have a formidable reputation at the time he fought Foreman. 29-0 (25) and having beaten everyone including Ali was some record. Foreman always fought extremely aggressively early though but I wouldn't be surprised having seen Frazier's fight if Foreman thought to himself 'I need to get this guy out of here before he warms up and he becomes a juggernaught.'
