I was recently re-watching Liston when he lost to Ali in their first fight and I was struck by his inability to get off even when Ali`s eyes were stinging Liston had Ali on the ropes and looked he was punching under water to Ali`s body the same way Hagler looked at times against Leonard and Ortiz when he had Wilder in trouble he just couldn`t let go so coul;d Liston have blown away Ortiz the way a slimmed down Wilder did a would Ortiz prove to be the better cart horse?

Liston’s shoulder most likely would’ve acted up and he’d end up losing because of it.

Would he be getting hit as much before that like he was v Ali though?!

No, Ortiz wasn't really a high volume puncher even during his prime.

Liston in a good rough brawling type fight. Liston gets shook up a couple of times but comes back just as hard .10 round ko .

Liston in his prime which was before he fought Ali I think would decimate Ortiz.
I don’t get how Ortiz was ever rated that highly.
He just looks like another typical slow plodding modern day heavy who happens to be a lefty.
