Can a HW great with a weak chin, even one as dominant as Wladimir really be expected to stand up to the bombs thrown by Sonny? Wlad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRSVosmwmAc vs Liston: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66dTY43XejM the two men on their best night against each other, who takes it?
Fight would go something like this, IMO. [yt]dU8YdYmgC74[/yt] Could go like this of course. [yt]wWbpM99wD2M[/yt]
one thing you can't do to klitschko is intimidate him. He has developed well and makes the best use of what he has. ukraine 1 usa 0.
Well he's already achieved greatness with his reign for me. But does that have any bearing on the outcome of this fight? Not for me it don't.
Mayweather has achieved far more and nobody goes around calling him a great. Your nutthuggery is as bad as vladimir23.
I call mayweathet great. Same way I call Hopkins, Pac, Marquez, Jones, Toney, holyfield all great. As for nuthuggery, you checked the poll?
agree completely mate. I can see Liston marching forward as Brewster did making Wlad do a lot of hard work at a pace his frame isn't suites for. Where Brewster was ducking and weaving Liston will be coming in behind a jab throwing hard hooks to the body. Eventually Wlad will lower his hands and his feet won't quite be quick enough to get out of the way of Listons bomb. I reckon Wlad could take him out if he landed the right shot but chances are he'll land troubling shots but shots which Liston can absorb. I mean Brewster only landed two big punches, one left hook to the body, one left hook to the head. Nothing else had particular mustard on it, it's just that Wlad can't operate at that pace. Gives me newfound appreciation of what an athlete Bowe must have been to go twelve hard rounds with his frame.
Definitely. I fully believe Wlad was in his prime against Brewster I dont believe he undertrained neither, that left hook to the body in round 5 was a peach and till that point Wlad looked as great as ever, just busier. I know he went twelve hard against Peter but i just think it's down to Peter not being as good as Brewster was. You take a big enough guy with a good enough chin and enough power and providing they put it on Wlad they'll take him out. Although i would favour Wlad over Vitali but that's because i think he holds every advantage bar chin and timing.
50/50 imo. I can see Wlad spam the jab and eventually land a bombing right. Of course that could be the way Liston wins too.
I dont think there's a heavyweight good enough to beat Wlad today, who's the best pressure fighter out there? Povetkin maybe? Arreola and Solis have the frame and style but don't seem able to put it together. There'll certainly never be another Sanders but is Wlad is to have a weakness it's gotta be a big durable guy who can throw hard punches for the full fight. Liston ticks the boxes. I honestly never realised until yesterday that Brewster was only 6'2. He wasn't an overly special talent but he could punch like a mule kick and he could take a shot to land his own. Liston might just punch harder and be just as durable. I say tko 6.
Was it pre-steward? Well I'm not convinced he would smash Brewster. I haven't seen him overcome that particular stylistic difficulty since the fight. Sure he won the rematch but Brewster was inactive and suffering eye injuries. During the first Wlad was smashing him but Brewster outlasted him.
