Liston vs Clay/Ali Fixed?

    No, as a first offence (in the fight) the punishment should be the extra time Liston would get to recover while Ali is actually made to go to the neutral corner before a count begins; as you are right about the referee dictating a count.

    Before the first fight, Liston underestimated Ali and didn't train properly. And during the actual fight, Liston injured his shoulder.
    In the second, he clearly took a dive.

    Liston went into Fight #1 with an injured shoulder. He requested a postponement but was denied. He thought he could dispense with Clay anyway, but underestimated him.

    Took some looking but I found the clip in question. Go to 44:00 for the piece in question. I believe this was just several days out from the scheduled rematch in Boston which of course had to be postponed at the 11th hour due to Ali's emergency surgery for a hernia. IMO, Liston looks very sharp and seriously trained.
