This is a 2 part question

    Who had the better Jab

    And who wins:

I know it’s a cheap way out but both of their jabs were great and different. Liston had the more powerful jab imo while Holmes was quicker with it (wasn’t lacking power either) Holmes would use it more defensively then Liston as well. H2h primes is tough but think Liston was the better fighter at their bests.

Give me Holmes to stop Liston late.

For me Holmes out boxes Liston with his Jab and keeps Liston at arm's length

But Liston had more power and his jab had a bigger impact however it was slower if pressed I'd chose Liston but it's close

I know what you mean by arms length, you mean how Ali beat Liston but technically arms length wouldn`t be enough against Liston and here`s why that is actually an important point,Holmes usually had a reach advantage on his opponents and pumped te jab because that`s how you exploit your full reach keeping the opponent as far away from you as you punch, but Liston had a longer reach tan anyone Larry fought, I get what you mean but arms reach in this one would not be a safe place like it was v Shavers and he caught Larry with that classic right hand so the odds are Liston would have caught him too except a lot more often due to his reach and jab.

Slight edges to liston.....maybe....if snipes who could not hit knock down Holmes...then i would give the workman like all round boxer..listo n the slight edge.....but holmes handspeed was such he may have beaten liston to the punch more times than not....perhaps

A hammer vs a viper´s bite, I think Holmes probably had the better jab, but both had phenomenal jabs.

I think Holmes outpoints him by majority decision.

That's a brilliant point. However Holmes had both a good defence and a pretty quick bike. He'd have to jump on that, pump his jab and keep the f*ck away from Liston. Liston's biggest flaw was he couldn't cut off the ring like Fraizer or Foreman, and against a good mover who could match his jab output and had a height advantage during his prime

    Go back to the films
Holmes in his prime had the best most versatile jab period.
    Both great fighters.
Both taking a hit in recent years.
    Holmes takes a UD IMO

Pickem fight. I could see it going both ways but one thing is for sure, Holmes will not be intimidated by Liston like so many other guys were. Both fighters were the real deal in there primes.

Liston's best weapon was his jab.......No one out-jabs Holmes!

The tiny ring gives Sonny a good chance to catch Larry.I'm undecided on this one.

Who's jab do you think was better? As I've stated here I think it's barely Liston

Liston's jab was so hard it had the disadvantage of pushing many opponents back out of range of follow up punches. Holmes' jab was a lot quicker and he could instantly follow it up with his right cross. I guess it boils down to what you like.

I back Holmes at his best to stop every man Ali could stop. Both Ali and Larry landed a lot of punches on opponents. had great chins and guts. Experts at using Straight fast shots. Holmes was more efficient if less flamboyant than Ali. And they beat all the same guys in my opinion.

Sonny marked up pretty bad against Ali and was worn down. Sonny was just not used to getting hit so often against Ali and the same thing would happen to him against Larry. Holmes did not miss much and threw a lot of punches too. Sonny has a punchers chance. I just don’t see him coming through though.
