He made zero effort to do so. He first boxed Holyfield’s ears off in a wipeout then lazily & without motivation, met a more desperate Holyfield & these two factors met to force a closer decision.

Liston would be gunning for this old Holyfield who could not even adequately deal with Ruiz!

Why did you leave V Klitschko off the list of wins for Lennox?

Because Liston already has a lengthy rap sheet & can’t afford a murder charge?

Um no. You are not outslugging Liston. Williams broke Liston nose and he came back and beat on Williams with vitriolic intentions

    lol

sonny is one of my favorite fighters ever

however Lennox has an immaculate resume in a era filled with huge roided super heavyweights and monster punchers..Lennox beat everyone he ever fought

I also think Bruno would give Liston trouble. The only one who beat Bruno relatively easy was Mike Tyson. Everyone else struggled with him. I think Liston would as well. Although I think Liston stops him.

I actually think Liston could make it undefeated. I just don't think it would easy breezy. I think guys like Holyfield, Bruno, Tucker, Ruddock and Mercer may be tough nuts to crack.

Where are you getting this Lewis was 'lazy and unmotivated'?

In this Best I Faced, Lewis, who tended not to be very flattering towards anyone he wouldn't call Lennox Lewis, says that 36, 37 year old Holyfield was his best opponent. He talks about how he wasn't switched on for McCall and Rahman but no mention he wasn't up for either Holyfield fight.

You've stated a couple of times, at least ,that Lennox took the second fight easy. Show us your source.

Other than Mercer, I see Liston having no problems with this list- And with Ray, I still think Liston wins. I don't know why everyone is arguing about Holyfield when Bruno, Golota, or even Briggs would make for harder fights for Liston here. The version of Holyfield that Lewis faced was bone dry.

Lewis wasn't a risk taker after Steward started training him.
