Liston has all the assets to beat Shavers......long jab, his own power, and a good chin, plus boxing skills.

Probably be like the Quarry vs Shavers fight....over in one round but a wild shootout.

Unless Shavers really lands something extraordinary and fast, then he's bound to get taken apart.

 

Shavers would n't get a chance to get his powerful right hand in. Liston all over him in the first three minutes,and ends it then too.

 

Shavers would hit Liston, and Sonny would briefly acknowledge it, and take the next 90 seconds to completely tear Earnie apart.

Remember when Liston in his prime, took away that Policeman's nightstick away,and threw the cop headfirst into a trash can and left him there.

(And then the St. Louis police later told him to leave town...or "else")

In the late 50's, that was the "Real" Liston the other contenders had to deal with.
