It’s definitely not the traditional manual frame by frame process. It is most likely an AI program. I’ve talked about the emergence of these tools for the past few years. I thought we were still 2-3 years out from having what we have today. So it’s exceeded my time frame estimation. What we’ve been seeing these last weeks are the earliest, and worst versions of this technology. It’s only going to get better, and will eventually go beyond just colorizing.
I certainly think these versions do add an extra historical dimension. I think it picks out the faces and clothing of the crowd in way you barely notice in the original black and white. Colurvmakes things more real. However, For a purely technical study, I think there is actually extra clarity of the fighters in the dark shades in the original black and white film. But it is still magnificent to see living colour. It does bring more life to the occasion. Seeing all those bow ties, fedora hats and the colour of life does bring it into reality for those of us that grew up with only colour TVs.
I know Sonny’s alleged 84” reach tends to get doubted on here now, but his reach looks awfully long on there. He really was a fearsome beast when in destruction mode.
Roger Rischer ErnieTerrell Alex Mittef John Holman Were good fighters. I dont think many contenders were that anxious to share a ring with him.
Big Cat dramatic wide shots but he was a big arm puncher, not much weight behind his punches. Sonny put his weight behind his punches which were shorter and straight down the pike
What does it tell us about your definition of an arm punch when many fighters of the era spoke very highly of Williams power?
