If you think Sonny Liston had a heart attack you’re naive, there was much much more to his death than a random cardiac arrest. Having a few whiskeys etc doesn’t make a professional athlete like Liston just drop dead, that’s much less likely than him being done in by the mob etc, it’s the least likely reason of his death in my opinion

He wasn’t an athlete. He was an aging alcoholic with heart disease who enjoyed heroin. I think you should learn the difference between commas and periods before calling others naive.

An apology always goes a long way, doesn’t it?…..even if the punch to the chest caused the heart to stop beating momentarily. A nice little NDE.

You probably think Gatti's wife choked him out with a purse strap. Might as well believe she also killed Liston.

You said Liston was an alcoholic with heart disease who enjoyed heroin. You don't know if any of that is true. Your posts aren't worth reading.

The autopsy was false? The morphine in his blood was not there? The long history of drinking does not exist?

He had been in the hospital with a neck injury from a wreck. That very possible accounts for the morpheme. Long history of drinking? Source? How about him enjoying heroin? Source? Why do you make this stuff up? What does it gain you?

Eddie Machen, Zora Foley, Sonny Liston, not to mention Rocky Marciano all died unexpectedly around the same sort of time.

was there a mob trial coming up?

What about that mob guy Warjacs son saying his father confessed to bim beingbthere when the mob gave sonny liston the hot shot?
I always felt that was more likeky as well.

Had Sonny Liston been an addict it woukd have been more known.his wife would know. And maybe later admitted that?

If there was, it must have been coming up for a long time because Marciano's and Machen's deaths were 3 years apart.

‘He wasn’t an athlete’ he literally fought a professional boxing match a few months before his death. Yeah he wasn’t the same athlete as he was a decade before but he wasn’t exactly some 300 pound obese couch potato was he? You mention his drinking, Liston was not an alcoholic. An alcoholic is somebody who spends all day drinking and can’t physically stop, Sonny was just someone who had started to drink more at that point in his life than previously, and it certainly wasn’t enough to kill him. If you seriously think that the most likely reason that Sonny Liston died was because he’d started to slack from training and drink a few more glasses of whisky as opposed to his mob connections and general crime factor that followed him around his entire life then yes you are VERY naive. Also I do know the difference between commas and periods, I just didn’t suspect they’d be of such important to somebody trying to point score on a boxing forum.

    1. He fought once in the middle of 1970 and died on Dec 30th of that year. It would be naive to think that he was taking care of himself during that period.
    2. Alcoholism is not defined by your interpretation
    3. The last sentence you wrote uses a comma instead of a period. You don’t know the difference.
