Great performance from little Kiko, guy has turned a little pitbull lately, done something that Donaire couldn't do a year ago and blasted Mathebula out. Kiko - Frampton II next ? or maybe Kiko-Quigg ? :bbb
Yeah, real happy for the guy. He's limited and tiny as f/k. But he's got tons of heart and is really deserving of $$$ fights. Very entertaining lil fella. I hope he continues defending his title, and maybe he can get a big $$$$ fight vs Donaire or Mares.....someone he'll undoubtedly lose to, but he can earn a fat stack to retire on.:good
Yes, they film it. It is just that spanish TVs suck... they will probably replay it on USA later. Kiko has a fan friendly style and puts funny fights on. Mathebula was his mandatory, I don't know who is fighting next. Both Quigg and Frampton want a piece of it, so I hope they will put good money on the table. I'd prefer him fighting on the USA against a not-elite guy... and then fighting LSC. I think Rigo would stop him.
He wanted to defend the belt at home for his fans. After stopping his last three rivals those Blood-thirsty TVs would be pleased to put him in a undercard... maybe against Chris Avalos? It would be funny if he fights against Quigg and takes his paper belt. IBF and SuperWBA titles. Not bad for a such raw boxer.
That's kinda it tho, Kiko doesn't come across as massively talented but he's obviously doing somethin' right. Guy's certainly got a hella fight in him - maybe he's just now coming into his own. - I still think that without a significant increase in skill his ceiling ain't much higher tho.
Someone on Twitter at ringside said there were cameras present... but no TV outlet anywhere in the world broadcasted it live.
