    For my first post in this potential mega-thread, I would just like to post that my top two choices for FOTY came from these divisions...

    1) Porpramook-Hernandez
    2) Maquez-Concepcion 1

    Edgar Sosa, former champ, is scheduled to meet with solid contender Wilbert Uicab, who is coming off a loss to Toshiyuki Igarashi in Japan, in March. Good fight!

    Pong's next fight looks to be against Filipino contender Sonny Boy Jaro (32-10-5) on March 2. Jaro has been knocked out by Segura from a body shot, stopped by contender Oscar Ibarra and lost a UD to Sosa (whom he knocked down in round 9, which was more of a flash knockdown). He is ranked #8 by the WBC. I see Pong winning a wide decision here, I don't see Jaro troubling a more technical fighter like Pong.

    In the recent WBO rankings, the WBO appointed Milan Melindo as Brian Viloria's mandatory instead of Froilan Saludar. Either way, Viloria's mandatory, if he is forced to, will be against a fellow Filipino, and Donnie Nietes' mandatory at 108 will be Rodel Mayol, I seriously doubt that fight happens though, since I'm pretty sure that Mayol moved up at 112-115 in his last couple of fights.

    I've done an awful job on this thread so far this year. Sorry, fellas. I want to say this though: I'm more convinced every day that Roman Gonzalez butchers Segura worse than Viloria did and Calderon is fighting for the WBO minimum weight title in April, I guess. On the back of a performance that should prove to him it's time to leave.

    It's up now. 24-year-old Jose Cabrera, who will be schooled.

    BTW, Brian Viloria is scheduled to fight Omar Nino Romero in the Philippines on April 1. They have unfinished business, with Nino being the first ever to defeat Viloria in a pro fight, with their rematch ending in a no contest (Originally a Majority Draw) after Nino tested positive on the drug test after the fight. So...TRILOGY!

    And apparently, the winner of this fight will be matched-up with the winner of the Hernan Marquez-Rodel Mayol (March 24 in Mexico) fight. They are trying to put this on a possible Philippines vs. Mexico card on July 14. So, obviously, a huge unification fight between "Tyson" and "The Hawaiian Punch" may soon come to fruition!
