Agreed. The rematch followed a very common historical pattern.

Arguello also suffered from depression and killed himself. It's hard to say if Pryor contributed.

That he did. Apparently he used to ask Pryor what was in the bottle for many years thereafter.

I'd say his suicide may have been more likely due to the politics he was involved in. It was more than a quarter of a century later to be fair.

Now he's contributed to Arguello's death? So the other 84 pro fights, the politics, and losing his wealth in his country
his cocaine habit, and most likely, simply being born with a genetic predisposition for it , I'm guessing in your opinion
isn't a factor? Really? Ok. Let's also blame Pryor for the political situation and the turmoil in Nicaragua at that time. At least JT#1 is begrudging admitting Arguello's suicide was damn near 25yrs
after the fight.... I respect that.

Are you aware that CTE can cause depression and lead to suicide? I didn’t directly say that Pryor caused his death, but you’d be a little bit emotionally driven and simple to not consider it.

    Roach & McGirt Great Trainers.

I think they are good trainers.
Both given accolades as great trainers, yet how many special fighters excelled with them? How much credit can one give to them for Pacquaio (Roach) & Tarver (McGirt) as great trainers?

I did a thread on funny names Turdsack...I only know of him because Freddie Roach trained him. His helping Hop for Calzaghe did little. I remember how pissed Paulie M was that Buddy stopped his fight. He trained undefeated Joel Julio who got the brakes whooped off him with Buddy in his corner for the Quintana fight.

These 2 guys were perfect for their best pugilist, but I can't place them on par with a Nacho Beristein who IMO shaped quite a few great fighters
