Their Championship reigns significantly overlap from
    1977 to 1980.

Why didn't Gomez move up and challenge Little Red?

Was Lopez just too big for Gomez?

Both of them carried a lot of firepower.

Who wins, Bazooka or Little Red?

...............It was in the makings, but some frizzy-headed guy got in the way. :D

I like Gomez in this one. I think if he respects Lopez the way he did Zarate, he moves and picks his shots and takes Danny out. I think he would have taken Lopez a bit more seriously than he did Sanchez.

I like Lopez to stop him at Featherweight. I think this turns into a brawl, and the bigger puncher(and fighter) comes out on top. Gomez was not the same monster at Featherweight as he was at Super Bantamweight.

This topic was debated in great detail before the last crash, and it seemed that back them I was the only one was picking Lopez. Well, my pick hasn`t changed and since I don`t feel like giving a long, detailed analysis as to why and how I think Danny would win I`ll just post this link to a thread from boxrec which pitted these same two fighters and in which I had plenty to say about this particualr macthup:

I think Gomez would take it, and Lopez is one of my alltime Favs. Gomez was a very good boxer with serious power. The fact that Lopez had been stopped a few times makes me think Gomez would do the same. Of course, if Lopez landed a bomb or two???.....

Gomez was great, but he was smaller and didn't carry his punch up with him very well. Gomez also didn't have a granite chin and was taken brutally taken out several times after he moved up. Lopez was a big featherweight and would have taken Gomez out.
