I think they were both really tough. Lopez had the better fire power, McGuigan probably had the better workrate. I see McGuigan hurting and dropping Lopez early, then, I know it's a cliche, but Lopez then getting up and sparking McGuigan out. McGuigan was good, but not good enough IMO. On their best nights McGuigan has a chance, but I think his fight with Pedroza was a bit like Hatton's against Tszyu :deal
wow what a match up, in Vegas i take Lopez. Not sure in Ireland though what a ****ing belter of a fight
Judges don't have a say when one of the fighters is face down on the canvas, so I doubt the location of the fight would matter.
It would be while it lasted. I think McGuigan has become a bit underrated in recent years, partially because a lot of people think (rightly so) that he shouldn't have been inducted at Canastota and because his career fizzled out after the Cruz fight. He was fairly impressive though at his short peak, around the time of the LaPorte, Pedroza and Taylor fights IMO. Still, Lopez probably outlasts him and takes him out late.
At some time..any time between round 2 or 3 and 15 Lopez would have put McGuigan to sleep with a right hand. Lopez was an unreal puncher and all it would have taken was one punch..at any time.
