Be thankful boxthing is back and be grateful to the boxthers last night regardless of ability. The journey to the top of a hill must start at the bottom.
It really was. Even little things like seeing John Rawling and Richie Woodhall perched above the action or David Haye desperate to bounce out of his seat were nice to see. I know there was some below par fights but the final fight and Kean v Sheeraz were both worthwhile. This weekend there's been football, test cricket and formula one and a nice enough day to sit out in a pub beer garden for a drink. Feels good!
Pity this was in a studio. There's only 8 miles between Lichfield and Bloxwich. Would have been a natural for Walsall Town Hall. Well done to both lads.
Watched this fight yesterday afternoon. Kean was definitely out of his depth. His sister was in my year at school, would go 12 rounds with her.
The guy gave all he had mate but looked like his ceiling may be Scottish Champion - unless he does a Ricky Burns and finds a Bepe Di Marco Champion somewhere down the line. If you are from Dundee - WTF has happened to Ronnie Clark last seen in the York Hall producing a great performance to beat Zelfa Barrett.
Like you said in another post mate, levels. His opponent just looked like the better fighter. Won with ease. Remember you mentioning Ronnie before when I first joined the forum. No idea where he's disappeared to. We used to train at the same gym but that was like 5 years ago now. Last I heard of the lad was after he beat Barrett and was trying to sell his belt to buy Crimbo presents. Hasn't fought since. Just googled him there to see if there was any info on his whereabouts and found this: https://boxrec.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=5169624&sid=a0994b25a0fcecbcfb6235029a1a520e#p5169624 Apparently broke his neck a while ago.
Fook me. Really enjoyed his fight with Barrett and remember his very good post fight interview. Hope we see him in the ring again mate.
Clark was on Twitter the other day chasing after Hearn- It would appear that he’s been asking Fast Car to put him on, but Eddie has been ignoring him. I think he was asking for a rematch with Barrett. I will post the tweet, If I find it.
Hopefully bud! Was a good fight with Barrett. If he gets back in the ring with him then I'll buy us both the PPV haha First time for everything and all that... PPV mugth together.
Always enjoy watching a big underdog overcome the odds - particularly with the heart and grit shown by Ronnie Clark that night.
