JMM called him out and must fight on PBF's terms just like PBF called Oscar out and went up to 154 and fought Oscar on his terms. Just like Hatton called PBF out and went up to 147 and fought PBF on his terms. JMM must do the same that's the way it works when you're in the driver's seat like PBF.:deal

Is it just me that thinks this will be a very tough and competitive fight for floyd. Marquez has certain skills mayweather does not have. This is definately not a 'tune-up' for floyd. Floyd himself is small compare to alot of the ww at the moment, both margo and shane weighed in at 160 on fight night, then there pw clottely and cotto. I think when we talk about P4P top 5 fighters such as pac, marquez and mayweather a few pounds should not make a great difference.

I agree with you. Why are people writing off the guy who moved upto lw and scored two kos against top fighters? This is a very competitive fight for floyd, i just dont think he will be able to potshot to a victory against arguably the top P4P fighter in the world and he will have to fight marquez.

The size difference is not a great as people make it out to be and it's not like PBF uses size to beat guys in the ring he's a defensive counter-puncher for crying out loud.:-( PBF is not a big WW he's small and comes in on fight night for a fight at 147 weighing 148. If this fight is made at 145 I would expect PBF to weigh no more than 149 on fight night and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if JMM outweighed him on fight night.

If PBF is the same size as JMM, then why not hold the fight at 135-140? Simple answer is because he's not, he is a lot bigger.

Totally agree mayweather 'out of retirement' is the recognised pound for pound best. He's even made a consession in fighting at 145 not 147. Marquez has to respect the 'money' (no pun intended). Does this mean Floyd is gearing up for a 140 showdown with hatton/pacqui

Its understandable why mayweather doesnt want his first fight at 147 he hasn't fought in a while. Its to soon for him to jump straight into 140:think

He's not a lot bigger.:patsch PBF won't fight at 140 because the fact is he doesn't have to he fights at what weight he wants to. He's the big fish here not the other way around. JMM can't dictate terms to PBF. PBF has more options than JMM has:deal

If hatton beats Pac look for PBF-Cotto instead of PBF-Hatton 2.

The problem is that there are welters who also called on Floyd. Why did he choose to fight JMM instead? Why are the challenges from Cotto and Mosley falling on deaf ears? They are in the same weight class as Floyd.

Then if Floyd is really not that big welter as you say, better fight JMM at the lower weights since they are both not big welters in the first place. 135-140 will be the best weight for both of them. This is basing on your argument that Floyd is not a big welter.

PBF is fighting JMM at a catch weight. What more do you want?:patsch If JMM doesn't want the fight fine decline and PBF will have 10 more knocking at his door. The funny thing a bout it is that JMM deosn't sseem to have a problem with it but his fans do and so do the PBF haters.:think

When has Cotto made an offer? PBF offered to fight Shane before he fought Oscar but Shane turned him down on and HBO telecast saying he needed to get his tooth fixed and go on vacation with his family.:deal PBF is just ****ing with Shane since he declined to fight him in the past. Now that he's in the driver's seat it's called payback.

I'm not overly critical of Floyd for fighting a smaller guy given the fact that he's fought his share of bigger guys, and that he's coming off a layoff (the "retirement" is another story, thanks for wasting all of 2008 Floyd ).

But the next fight better be against a Mosley, Cotto, or even Pacquiao. I used to be against a Pacquiao-PBF fight, but it's grown on me. That'd be a superfight and would bring some mainstream attention to the sport.

Surely if PBF is the same size as JMM, he can get down to 135. At 135 he can win the LW titles and become a 6 time world champ, he will also get 10* more credit for beating JMM at 135 than he will at 145. So if he is the same size as JMM, he should be able to make 135...other than his ego, what reason does he have not to fight JMM at 135 and opting 145? OK he dictate's the terms but thats irrelevant, if he is as small as you say he is, he would be dictating this fight happens at 135.
