Marquez im My oppinion. I think he really is his strongest at 135. Knocked out two guys who have never been knocked out. Knocking out casa made a real statement. I think JMM would outbox while out warring the late great Diego RIP

I think Marquez would get a scare early probably even going down but after 3 or 4 rounds . This would be a serious ass whupping for Corrales. Once Marquez got going hed be all wrong for Chico.. Marquez tko 9

I think this is a very winnable fight for Chico, Marquez doesnt have great speed or power, hes more of an all around wizard, whos good at everything (great, nontheless), but i think that gives Chico enough room to get some work done.

Id have to think about it a bit more but it would be a classic thats for sure. I can see marquez having success throughout with some great boxing, but Corrales will have his moments, and in those moments, i think that Marquez is going to hit the canvas..... do i think chico can do enough between those moments to take a decision?... That, i do not know.

I wanna say Marquez but i too think that it's a very dangerous matchup for him. He's a wizard allrite but Chico can box too when he has to as shown in the second casa fight. He outboxed the boxer in that one. He's never faced anyone with the kinda power of Chico.. Not even Pacman...

Chico's reputation would cause JMM to be a bit cautious in the beginning but would start to let go between rounds4-6 when he realized that he was faster than COrrales and was able to hurt him with some of his counters.

JMM by close but convincing UD or maybe even a late round stoppage.

Im gonna go with Chico SD.... due to some knockdowns. I think Marquez will win more actual rounds, but i just dont see him not getting knocked down in this one, and more then once... Chico brings very decent speed and some great, fight changing power.... and i think that Chico will barely edge JMM in a classic fight.

Sorry guys i think your giving Chico(RIP) too much credit here, either that or your shortchanghing Marquez. IMO Chicos only chance is too catch Marquez, there is no way he outboxes or wins more rounds once Marquez get his rythym going. I think Marquez stops him but if it did go the distance Marquez would win a very convincing decision.

Perhaps your right, maybe im giving Chico too much credit while not enough to JMM.

I must say i dont see JMM stopping Chico at all, in order for someone like JMM to stop Chico, they will have to be in firing range laying down leather all night, hes not stopping chico on anything other then some heavy, heavy accumulation (we are talking prime chico here) and i dont think JMM will be find himself in that range for very long, hes too smart.

If JMM tries to fight with Chico, and thinks he can stop him, i see JMM getting busted about the 4th round.

JMM gets hit his fair share, and Chico brings some dimensions and attributes (Chico being very big for 135, with some class A power, underrated speed, and non stop aggression) that i think can give JMM fits. However, he was able to effectively handle Pac.... who, while small, obviously brings those same dangers, and in some cases brings them with greater quantity.

Idk.... for me, JMM gets hit and knocked down way too much for me to think he handles a guy like Chico with ease, a guy whos going to be in JMMs grill all night.

IDK... ill think about it a bit more though Anarci. Maybe youre right and im not giving JMM enough credit, he did neutralize pac to a great degree. However, different fighters, different fights....

    hmmm.... :think

JMM's chin is good in that he most likely wont get actually hurt hurt, too bad, but his chin is far from great, especially when talking accurate power punchers, to the point that hes not the hardest person to knock down, and when he gets knocked down, hes giving away points, and momentum. In fact, its his chin that costed him decisions in the biggest fights of his life.

Chico def has the ability to put JMM down once or twice throughout the fight... add that to the fact that theres no way in hell JMM is going to close Chico out round in and round out, and i see this as a close fight.

And im not sure why so many people are picking Marquez, a guy whos not going to be catching the bigger chico with many punches he wont see coming, as hes not that fast, or will be hitting chico with anything he hasnt felt before, as hes not that powerful, is somehow going to lay enough leather on a prime chico (meaning he will be fighting that kind of fight with chico, whiich is another thing i doubt) to actually stop him.

Im confident that JMM doesnt get a TKO/KO in this fight.

JMM by a wide UD. I love Chico but he is way too flawed for such a technical boxer. I really don't see a way that Chico wins this, and most likely he just loses a lopsided UD.

Marquez by UD, unless Corrales lands a BOMB. we all know that Chico has serious power on both hands. but of course we cannot deny JMM's ability to recover.

My God, this is a boxing forum and many of those posting in it have no clue about style mismatches.

Diego was a hunter who was aggressive and liked to stand and trade on the inside. A fighter who leaned on the inside to unleach hooks.......
The perfect style for a counterpuncher to feast on, and more so one with the uppercut repertoire of Marquez to unleach when Diego is leaned in.....

Lets remember that Marrquez was awesome in his movements to his left to get away from Pacquiao's straight left.
Against Corrales, Marquez would be moving in that same direction to get away and nullify Corrales heavy hook.

Defensively Corrales was'nt very good.......and Corrales right hand is not much to speak of, Marquez would be keying in on mostly avoiding Diego's left hook.......

Ultimately a fighter with as many holes as Corrales has is going to get taken apart by a two fisted master counterpuncher like Marquez.
