Hi Guys... whenever a debate about VK starts the LL fight always pops up so i thought i would start a thread to see what peoples opinions on that fight are. I personally see it as, VK won the early rounds convincingly, LL started to come back into it and won the 2 rounds previous to the stoppage. I had VK 2 points ahead but LL was coming back and had won the 2 previous rounds before winnning by a LEGITIMATE stoppage. In my opinion LL was starting to take over from the 5th and really can't see where people get the argument that LL would have been KO'd. Discuss
lennox started to get into a rhythmn in the late rrounds he was being to patient and poppy until he just seemed to say **** it and just threw all he had into it. he would of got the stoppage in my opinion, vitali was fading and was not getting out of the way of the punches by the time lewis started to do a frazier routine, lewis just looked so bad at the start of the fight, that people forget how ragged vitali looked in the last 2 rounds
Vitali would have been stopped in the 7th or 8th at best:hey:deal As it happens,he was stopped in the 6th.Legit TKO victory for LL.People here will try and discredit him and say he landed lucky/grazing punches which caused the damage to the face of VK but we all know the truth
How anyone judge a championship fight on 6 rounds? Regardless of how the fight went, Lewis TKO. Thats all that need to be said really, that's as clear as any wide UD you will ever get.
Once the doc was going to VK's corner, I thought LL started targeting the left eye going for the stoppage, probably knowing it could cost him the rounds. It was a legit stopage - end of story.
VITLAY paid the doctor to pull him out so it didn't look like he'd quit again like he did against Maskaev and Byrd. Then he had a hissy stuttering fit, trying to look like he was hard as nails when half his face was hanging off :rofl:rofl:rofl
You can't make an accurate prediction based on the first fight...anything is possible in boxing. Especially in the heavyweight division. Lewis was coming on in the later rounds because, obviously, Klitschko was effected by that horrible hole above his eye. Also, it was obvious that Lewis had the wrong intial fight plan for Vitali...he tried to take the fight to him...bad idea. This is why Vitali dominated the early rounds. I'm sure the second fight looks very different with Lewis and Klitschko both being a little more hesitant. If I had to guess though, I would give Klitschko the edge due to effective aggression and higher workrate. Klitschko in UD!!
No,not really, mate! There is a huge difference between a legit ko loss or an undisputed point decision loss and a controversial tko loss. Thats why LL vs Vitaly still makes some fight fans' blood boil and hotly discuss matters and how their fight would have turned out if Vitaly hadnt had that bloody damn cut which lead to the stoppage. A pity that a rematch didnt come off!!!!!
I reckon the fact that Lewis retired rather than take the re-match fans the flames for anyone saying he got lucky too. But if you ask me it was a legit stoppage, and VK must have known he was going to have to stop Lewis as there was no way he could expect to go the full 12 rounds when the doc had been in his corner at the end of every round since the third.
I, along with a lot of the crowd that night (as you could hear from the chorus of BOOs after LL was announced the winner!) thought Vitali could of still won it. LL was in such crap physichal shape I could not see the man lasting 12 rounds. Now, do I agree the stoppage was legit? Definitely. I don't remember blood going in to his eye though so if the ref let it go one more round, and TELL VK that's all he's letting it go (so VK could try to KO LL) then that would have been better IMO. At any rate one thing I don't think you all can do is defend LL for not giving Vitali a rematch. He was beating him by 2 rounds EVEN WITH A HUGE CUT, and the crowd was definitely for Vitali. LL should have came back, gave the man a rematch (I'm sure it'd draw well too), and then shut up the critics like myself. He didn't...He immediately retired!!! Also the interview he gave after "I beat you, and I'd beat your brother..." Blah blah seemed like the most cowardly thing I ever heard, and he was very defensive.. Sounded like he stole the belt, and ran away with it like a theif.
While i find your posts funny.... i don't see what you are adding to the thread and can't understand why you have posted twice if you have nothing to say?
