He only had one belt left that he had to fight mandatories for (the WBC one). I don't remember clearly if it was a mandatory but it's not like he was bogged down fighting them, like if he'd had two or three to defend.
Suckeggs, I'm not trying to fall out with you but I don't know where you get this idea that not training is a good excuse for getting your **** kicked. Most people wouldn't get away with telling their boss "I made a **** of everything today cause I was sniffing coke and shagging a whoar last night" - it's more or less the same thing.
If you remember, this is one of the reasons why Lennox was criticized as champ. Rather than fighting his mandatories he would try to hold the belts hostage and fight who he pleased. Vitali Klitschko took him to court to try and force a fight with the champ. This is one of the reasons why lennox agreed to fight Vitali on 2 weeks notice.
True... Kirk was definately mandatory though and if Lennox only had 1 belt left it made sense to do what the governing body said before he lost that one too
It's unproffessional. Fraudley had the talent to do better than he did but didn't always take his opponents seriously. It's one of the reasons everyone slags him at every opportunity.
It is your right and he didn't do himself any favours by doing so. He didn't take Rahman seriously and got stopped and then wasn't taking Kirk Johnson seriously and he had his roughest night of his career against Vitali because of it... As talented as LL was his ego could have really hurt his legacy had he been beaten by Vitali that night and is still called glass jawed by some because of the Rahman fight.
