Credit to Oscar as fighter he would fight anybody but as a promoter takes few chances . Oscar though relished the big stage and was always professional and fully prepared for fights. Oscar would survive some rough moments however he would pound out a close decision.
Honeyghan of the Curry fight was a whirlwind of a fighter, speed, power, footwork and not afraid to mix it up. It could get ugly for DLH in this one. Assuming the judges have not been bought, the Ragamuffin by points (3rds up), maybe a late KO.
I really think honeyghan has a chance of taking this one. This is the curry version so he's prime and up for it. I think he gets past the jab of Oscar and literally rags him around. Hoya s full of heart though and will blast back. I see a distance fight with a shaken up Oscar losing by unanimous.
I see Oscar pulling a close decision win in a tough fight. He was on for Curry wasn't he ! Tough task for anyone Honeyghan though. Watchin De la Hoya at the moment. Someone started a thread about 'Did de la hoya fulfil his potential ?'..I don't think he did watching some fights now. God he was good. Brilliant all round fighter, that switched off in some fights or coasted/gassed a bit. If he had that spitefull wide eyed look he had for the likes of vargas etc I see him to good for the Raggamuffin marn !
Can remember that spiteful look well Birmingham. He had it in the first jcc fight. That was a terrific looking Oscar in that fight. And the blood!
Honeyghan was still a boxer rather than slugger v curry. Thec1985-86 honeyghan who had hand speed incredibly fast reflexes,a power punch and a terrific defence beats ODLH. The hand damaged slugger who neglects his skills of post blocker loses
