correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure I seen a thread or a link, either here or some other site, about a book written on Lloyd Marshall? anyone else remember, if one indeed has been written about him? in fact, I thought it was called Gloved Dynamite or Black Dynamite, or something like that, anybody know?
Same, I'd buy a book on Marshall in a heartbeat. Guy had a fascinating career and there's not a whole lot of information about him out there.
I just asked one person who’d be certain to know and he said there isn’t one. He said if there was, then it’s the best kept secret in the history of boxing books. Too bad. I do recommend Springs Toledo’s book Murderers Row which has a fantastic piece on Marshall. And all of the other members for that matter.
it would be a hidden gem, seems though there was a Post and a Link, some few years back... I'm sure it was Marshall. possible a self published with only a few dozen printed to see if there was any interest. I don't know I'm just trying to remember. was there another Book called Gloved Dynamite, or Black Dynamite, that I might be thinking about?
This is random, but I have this strange issue where I confuse Turpin and Marshall there achievements are all bundled together in my brain exclusively them two for some reason,
Black Dynamite was in 4 volumes, from memory. History starting with Dixon, Gans etc, not sure if they included Marshall in a later one. Author, Nat Fleischer.
