I find it hilarious how Jones fans are criticizing Calzaghe fans for going overboard hyping their fighter. Nevermind that Jones fans are more guilty of this than anyone!

    Consider:

-Jones fans are criticizing Calzaghe fans for treating their man like he was "unbeatable" just because he hadn't yet been beaten. Nevermind that Jones fans used to do the exact same thing.

-Jones fans insist that Calzaghe's win should not give him the benefit of the doubt in a "prime for prime" matchup, even though he totally dominated. Nevermind that many of the same fans have said that Jones should get the benefit of the doubt over the likes of Hopkins, Virgil Hill, McCallum, Tito, Reggie Johnson, etc. in their primes based on Roy's wins over them.

-Jones fans criticized Calzaghe for spending a long stetch of time tomato picking his challengers before stepping up his competition late in his career. Nevermind that Roy did almost the exact same thing for close to ten years, between the Toney and Ruiz fights.

-Jones fans are criticizing Calzaghe fans for praising him based on how he "looks" rather than what he actually accomplishes with his wins. Again, the same logic Roy fans used to rate their man for years.

Roy fans used to criticize other people for the way they got frustrated with the way they overrated Roy. Now, Roy fans are absolutely blowing their lids at seeing others do the exact same thing.

If you ask me, Jones fans are getting a well-deserved taste of their own medicine.

Or Calzaghe said a fight with Jones is pointless and a victory isn't worth it..

Then he goes and gets the fight and tries to hype it up as the greatest match up.

    I forgot this one:

-Jones fans criticized Calzaghe fans for saying that Hopkins' win over Pavlik enhances Joe's win over Bernard. Nevermind that Jones fans have a history of propping up Roy anytime one of his victims goes on to win a fight afterward.

Said before Jones put together a series of wins.

Plus, Joe was actually quite frank about Jones in the build up. :deal

Jones did essentially the reverse in regard to Dariusz M.

First he said it was an important fight that he wanted to make in Germany, where he said he could get a career high payday.

Then he said it wasn't an important fight and that Dariusz should have to come to the US for him to even consider the fight.

So I guess I have a new point I can add to my list.

I can't stop laughing at the Jones fans who say Jones would have beat Calzaghe in his prime. JC beat him by 11 points while showboating to an almost ridiculous degree. Had they faced in, say, 2002, JC would have had to ditch the showboating but he'd still win. The punch that dropped JC in rd 1 woudn't have bothered him in JC's prime.

Seriously, you can make these threads all day but the bottom line is Calzaghe with always be ranked far below Jones as he simply was never as good as Jones.

Well we cannot control time and this is not 5 nor 10 years ago. So spare me the "in his prime talk." He lost last night and Calzaghe won clearly and showed a good chin.
