LMAO Broner couldn't beat Porter even with a catch weight advantage!

I view him as the biggest hype job of this generation. He has struggled against mediocre opposition since early in his career. The ponce fight is a perfect example, it could have gone either way.

For all my near-hatred of Broner, I’ll admit he’s very talented. But he wastes that talent with his extreme jerkass behavior and not putting it together in the ring. For a World level boxer, Broner’s punch output is quite frankly dreadful (and before you say "what about Mayweather?" He makes his thrown punches count) and the Maidana fight (and even the Malignaggi and Ponce de Leon fights) showed that if you don’t march to Broner’s beat, you can frustrate him. Add Broner’s flatfootedness and Porter’s bum rushing style and it was a bad match-up for Broner. Porter’s style isn’t pretty and it’s quite reckless but tonight it was the perfect style against Broner and the gameplan was spot on.

The really frustrating thing is that when we saw Broner let his hands go, he had success and if he was more productive the fight would have been close (don’t fool yourself into thinking it was a close fight. It wasn’t). The 12th round KD on Porter was more of Porter being surprised (and being complacent) but still indicated that Broner coulda, shoulda, woulda very early in the fight. It showed what might have been possible if Broner did more.

I honestly can’t see Broner beating many other world class boxers until he fixes his flaws. If he went back to Welterwight he’d get slaughted and Crawford and Matthysse would also beat him.

Porter tonight was excellent, save for that lapse of concentration in the 12th. He could do with being a bit more technical in his attacking but I did like the way he adapted to avoiding Broner’s counter attacks as the fight went on. I enjoyed this fight (mainly for the smug "told you so" gloating I was doing towards my friends…hey I don’t win much ¬_¬) and it will be interesting to see where each fighter goes on from here; Porter’s future looks bright, Broner has got some reflection and fixing to do.

That's because the catchweight turned out to not be an advantage at all.

Well, that C/W was probably needed to give Broner half a chance. Porter is strong as a MW. Even with the weight loss and rehydration clause, he was still way too strong for Broner.

Broner needs to keep his little a$$ at JWW and stop trying his luck at WW.

it's certainly possible with today's weightdraining, number of (vacant) belts and judging.

I can see scenarios in wich Chavez Jr could have been a 3 weight champ (154/160/168 ). Just picking out the right opponents at the right time and score every close round for him.

He needs to start taking his career seriously. He looked like he was 200lbs only a few months ago and we seen how ballooning in weight between fights can **** a fighter up with Hatton.

He's still only 25 and he's more talented than 99% of fighters his same age. He has plenty of time to sort his **** out, move down to 135/140, train hard and stay healthy between fights and then by the time he's 30 he might be the star he was already hyped up to be.
