It's a shame for Chambers. He's easily the best American HW around at the moment. I'd be nice to see him fighting for the Heavyweight Championship on HBO in front of his own countrymen.

Bradley vs maidana would be good for free tv ( espn fnf ), or maybee hbo boxing after dark, but not in leiu of a Wlad fight.

Quick note to the Wlad haters who are American.

Wlad doesnt need the US to make money or sell out stadiums.

    Well, here is the rub...

    1. Wlad is the champ, and his job is to go out and get the W. Which he does consistently.

    2. Wlad will eventually have all the belts, so you can't ignore him forever.

    3. The Missing Great American HW is probably playing in the NFL.

How silly is it that people are talking about "respect" and the like. HBO should be spending their money on good fights, period. Whether Chambers wins or loses, there's NO WAY that Wlad vs Chambers is even a decent fight to watch. I'm sure someone else (ESPN Classic probably, but maybe FSN) will pick up the fight for cheap to air in the US.

Good point. But they still show all the Mayweather mismatches...

It must be about the names, because it sure isn't about the match ups.

No, it's just a different set of rules for fighters you like right? Assmunch. Haye had his chance to fight both brothers & he pussied out against both for the easier, lower risk fight against Valuev. By the way, Valuev already lost to Chagaev & Chag was beaten & TKO'd by Wladimir.

Me too. I vote with my money too & if enough people cancel it will make an impact.

They'll be missing a nice KO of Chambers by Wlad, as usual.

why is nobody giving chambers a chance against wlad? he could get a decision on wlad, won't knock him out but if it goes the cards you gotta give him a chance

in 50 + fights no one has outboxed wlad hell he usually only loses a round or two at most in almost all of his fights, i think Chambers only chance is a lucky punch because he is deffinately not outboxing him...

Everybody is saying it's because Wlad is boring, which is a little bit true, but also, Chambers is suckish. So a boring guy vs an even more boring guy who's not all that good = not worth the money for HBO. But, as someone pointed out more then being about boring, it's about ratings. Floyd is boring as hell in the ring, but he gets ratings so HBO shows him. Perhaps if Wlad acted like a foolish ******, he'd get to stay on HBO.

The only good thing is that this fight (which I like) will happen regardless with or without HBO, and boxing fans will find a way to see it. HBO can save their money to put on another fight which probably won't happen without their funding.
