LMAO @ the chin checkers

I'm from NY and I'll be honest, I never bought into that chin checkers bull****. I always felt Codrington was a joke and his highest accolade would be what he accomplished in the Golden Gloves. Nothing more. I don't count that contenders "reality" T.V. show bull****. I wanted to see him layed out 2003 after he won his Golden Gloves title, when he threw up a gang sign after the fight. Allen Green brought me alot of satisfaction.

Stevens I always felt was undersized and would only be a matter of time before he would start fighting guys that weren't gonna bow down to his power and look what happened. Exposed. All mouth, no cardio, **** talking, no show, limited, VERY average fighter. Stevens makes Zab Judah's cardio look like Manny Pacquiao's. Pathetic. People can say what they want about the way Dirrell beat him, but fact is, he exposed the fact that Stevens was unable to cut off the ring and was a very limited & one dimensional offensive fighter. "Chin Checkers" my ass. They got checked and got they're asses cashed out.

It isn't that difficult to earn some name fighting bums in club scenes.


I admit I didn't see the Green win coming but I saw the Brinkley win coming.

As far as potential goes, Stevens has it. He just doesn't use his head. Typical American behavior sadly.

The way Teddy Atlas goes about commentating during their fights annoys the **** out of me. He should be more honest with the fans and with himself. He dogs guys like Samuel Peter for coming in out of shape and disinterested. He needs to do the same with the local boys.

Codrington was always going to be let down by his chin. He could have worked his ass off all he could and he still would be where he is today.

Stevens is too short and slow afoot to ever become an elite fighter

Jorge Terron, Joe Greene are 2 NY fighters with promise that you should look out for...and when Travis Peterkin turns pro, he will be a champ. Believe that.

Yea. I'm from NY too and seen Codrington at a few amateur events years back...he never seemed that cocky but I think the whole Chin Checkers thing got him big headed. It was always Curtis Stevens that had the big mouth and big ego. Being hometown fighters I should've been rooting for them but I always rooted against them, especially Stevens.
